Denise Barnes, R.N.

Denise Barnes is a seasoned peritoneal dialysis specialist and program leader with nearly three decades of experience in home dialysis care. Since starting as a PD nurse in 1997, she progressed to become a program director and facility manager, playing a pivotal role in launching the first freestanding home-only dialysis unit in San Diego County. She later helped establish three additional home-only facilities with Home Dialysis Therapies, where she excelled in translating the organization’s patient-centric philosophy into practice.

Renowned for her operational insight and deep understanding of patient needs, Denise brings a unique bridge between clinical excellence and high-quality home-based care. As a member of Byonyks’ Scientific Advisory Board, she provides expertise in building scalable, patient-focused dialysis programs that combine innovation with practical delivery and improved outcomes.
