Trip to Ethiopia & Kenya
Farrukh Usman’s visit to Ethiopia and Kenya brought Byonyks’ East Africa mission into focus through direct conversations with healthcare leaders, nephrologists, and regional enablers. In Nairobi, Kenya, discussions centered on the possibility of bloodless dialysis and how home-based peritoneal dialysis could support patients with limited access to traditional dialysis care.
In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the visit included engagement with the medical community, regional healthcare stakeholders, and local care environments. From hospital and care center visits to conversations around patient access, the trip marked an important step in exploring how Byonyks’ experience in South Asia could help open new possibilities for kidney care in East Africa.
